CAF Appeals Board Declares Morocco 2025 AFCON Winner!


On 17 March 2026, the Appeal Board of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) upheld a Moroccan appeal following events during the final of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on 18 January 2026, awarding the title to the Moroccan national representative team. Senegal already stated that it would appeal the decision.

Facts

 

On 28 January 2026, the CAF Disciplinary Board imposed sanctions against the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF), as well as certain players and officials, in response to incidents that occurred during the Final of the 2025 CAF AFCON, played in Morocco on 18 January 2025.
