CAF Issues Sanctions after 2025 AFCON Final


On 28 January 2026, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) imposed several disciplinary sanctions following events during the final of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on 18 January 2026. In this context, CAF sanctioned the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) and several individuals involved.

The CAF Disciplinary Board imposed sanctions against FSF and FRMF, as well as certain players and officials, in response to incidents that occurred during the Final of the 2025 CAF AFCON, played in Morocco on 18 January 2025. According to the African football governing body, these incidents constituted several violations of the CAF Disciplinary Code.
