Update of Amendment of Chinese Sports Law

Next
Following the article “Proposed Amendment of Chinese Sports Law”[1] published on 10 November 2021, where the author mainly talked about the newly added Chapters Sports Arbitration Tribunal and Anti-Doping, this new article aims to clarify some relevant aspects further.

The proposed Amendment was released on the official website of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China for public opinion until 21 November 2021. The author and many other scholars, athletes and citizens who wanted to be involved in the law-making process already sent their opinions. The process of collecting public opinion also officially closed.

What would happen next is that the proposed Amendment would be reviewed or amended again based on public opinion collected and sent to the People’s Congress and its Standing Committee for discussion and approval. Once it is approved, it will be published and entered into force.
