The purpose of this article is to discuss a recent arbitral award issued under the sports arbitration rules of the UAE Arbitration Centre on 17 February 2023 in a matter between a first-team player, Seif Khalfan (Claimant/Player), and Al Jazira FC (Respondent/Club).
The matter was filed by the Player, as an appeal to decision no. 1 of 2022 by the UAE Football Association (UAE FA) Dispute Resolution Chamber (UAE FA DRC), appealed by both the Player and the Club before the UAE FA Appeal Committee (Appeals nos. 5 and 6 of 2022 dated 27 October 2022 - Decisions).
