On 22 November 2017, following a succession of defeats with Lille (then 19th of the Ligue 1 table), the Argentinean coach Marcelo Bielsa was suspended from his position, before being officially dismissed for serious misconduct on 15 December 2017. Since then, the litigation is before the French courts.

The dispute between Marcelo Bielsa and his former club is only just beginning. However, it has already given rise to two judgements issued by the French courts.

Before the Lille Commercial Court
