Pep Guardiola fined by The FA for wearing yellow ribbon

In March 2018, Pep Guardiola was fined GBP 20,000 (approx. EUR 23,000) and warned as to his future conduct for wearing a yellow ribbon on the sidelines.

After a match against Wigan Athletic FC in The FA Cup on 19 February 2018, the Manchester City boss was charged[1] with a breach of FA Rule E1(b) - effectively a misconduct charge - in respect of an alleged breach of Regulation A4 of The FA’s Kit and Advertising Regulations, which states:[2]

“The appearance on, or incorporation in, any item of clothing (including football boots) of any distasteful, threatening, abusive, indecent, insulting, discriminatory or otherwise...
