This is the third CAS award challenging a decision from the Football Association of Argentina (AFA), following the acknowledgment of CAS’s jurisdiction in the Statutes AFA approved in 2017.

In this case, Club Atlético San Martín (San Martín) challenged the decision issued by the AFA Executive Committee (later ratified by the General Assembly) in relation to the early termination of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequences thereof.
