Gabigol Found Not Guilty of Tampering with an Anti-Doping Control


On 4 July 2025, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) annulled Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa’s 24-month suspension, finding his conduct did not legally constitute “tampering” under the Wada Code regulations. Accordingly, the appeal filed by the player, colloquially called Gabigol, was upheld and no sanction was imposed.
