CJEU Advocate General to Deliver Diarra Case Opinion on 30 April 2024!


On 30 April 2024, Mr Maciej Szpunar, the First Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), will give his Opinion on the case C-650/22 (Lassana Diarra and FIFPRO v. FIFA and URBSFA). This case is crucial as it relates to the applicability and legality of various FIFA rules on the transfer system, specifically the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP).

On 19 September 2022, the Mons Court of Appeal, located in the Wallonian region of Belgium, referred the Lassana Diarra case to the CJEU.
