This article offers an overview of the UEFA Regulatory Framework applicable to Multi-Club Ownership (MCO) cases and describes the proceedings before the UEFA Club Financial Control Body in such cases.

Introduction

 

If the question of MCO seems relatively recent, UEFA has had first regulated this matter in 1998.

But what is MCO? In simplified terms, it can be defined as a private company (or an individual) controlling two or more clubs or being in a “position to influence the management, administration and/or sporting performance” of these different clubs.[1]
