The CAS confirmed the decision of the Russian Football Federation not to sanction a club that had fielded an ineligible player.

Facts of the case

In May 2018, the player of FC Ararat, Irakli Kvekveskiri (the Player), received a second caution during one match and, as a result, was sent off at the 84th minute and, thus, was automatically suspended for the next match.

During the 2018 summer transfer window, the Player moved from FC Ararat (a club of the Professional Football League - “PFL”, competing in the third professional division of Russia) to FC SKA Khabarovsk (a club of the Football National League - “FNL”, competing in the second professional division of Russia).
