Fielding of an ineligible player: CAS does not issue a 3-0 forfeit loss

The CAS confirmed the decision of the Russian Football Federation not to sanction a club that had fielded an ineligible player.

Facts of the case

In May 2018, the player of FC Ararat, Irakli Kvekveskiri (the Player), received a second caution during one match and, as a result, was sent off at the 84^th minute and, thus, was automatically suspended for the next match.

During the 2018 summer transfer window, the Player moved from FC Ararat (a club of the Professional Football League - “PFL”, competing in the third professional division of Russia) to FC SKA Khabarovsk (a club of the Football National League - “FNL”, competing in the second professional division of Russia).
