In its opinion issued in the context of the draft decree aiming to extend from four to five years the maximum duration of contracts concluded for the commercialization of audiovisual exploitation rights of professional football, the French Competition Authority did not express any major opposition. However, it questions the real impact of such a measure on the increase in the sale price of audiovisual rights, while pointing out the necessity of a more global reflection on the framework of their commercialization.
