Factual and Procedural Background

The decision 4A_432/2017 of 22 January 2018 concerned a dispute between an intermediary licensed by the Argentinean Football Association (AFA) and a professional football player, in the context of which a Civil Law Appeal was filed before the Swiss Federal Tribunal against the Award rendered by CAS in the proceedings CAS 2016/A/4554 Pablo Gustavo Cosentino V. Ezequiel Matias Schelotto.

The parties were in dispute over commission payments, which the intermediary claimed from the player. In this context, the intermediary had lodged a claim before the FIFA Player’s Status Committee (PSC) on 11 September 2013, which however declared the claim inadmissible.
