National Implementations of the FIFA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries (RWI) - FRANCE

The new FIFA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries require associations to implement and enforce the minimum standards/requirements provided in the Regulations, subject to the mandatory laws and other mandatory national legislative norms applicable to the associations. The Regulations specify that the right of associations to go beyond these minimum standards/requirements is preserved.

France is one of the rare countries in the world to have adopted a specific national legislation for sports agents[1] since 1992[2]. This legislation is very constraining. In particular, Article L.222-7 of the Sports Code requires that any sports agent wishing to exercise his activity in France must hold a sports agent license.
