Match-Fixing: General Acquittal in Eldense Case

On 21 February 2026, the judge presiding over the Criminal Court no. 1 of Alicante acquitted the six defendants in the case involving alleged match-fixing by Spanish club Eldense to profit from sports betting during the 2016-2017 season. Among them are an Italian investor in the club, coaches and players.
