In view of these unacceptable acts and the strong reactions that this episode has generated around the world, we have decided to give the floor to Marcelo Medeiros Carvalho, Executive Director of the Brazilian Observatory of Racial Discrimination in Football (Observatório da Discriminação Racial no Futebol).

The Brazilian Observatory of Racial Discrimination in Football (ODRF) has always worked with one main goal: to monitor and publicize, through its channels, racism cases in football, as well as informative and educational actions aimed at eradicating intolerance in sport.
