On 6 October 2023, UEFA announced that it had appointed Ethics and Disciplinary Inspectors to conduct a disciplinary investigation after serious violent incidents occurred before, during and after a UEFA Conference League match opposing AZ Alkmaar (the Netherlands) to Legia Warsaw (Poland). Notwithstanding this, a first decision affecting Legia Warsaw supporters was issued on 13 October 2023.
