On 7 March 2022, FIFA temporarily amended the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP) to provide further legal certainty and clarity on several issues related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
FIFA decided to set out a new set of principles in the form of a temporary annex to the FIFA RSTP (Annex 7) entitled “Temporary rules addressing the exceptional situation deriving from the war in Ukraine.”
