FIFA Report - The Reform of the Transfer System

On 19 January 2023, FIFA released the Reform of the Transfer System report, which summarizes a number of legal amendments implemented by FIFA during the 2017-2022 period. As Football Legal readers know, since 2017, FIFA has been conducting a thorough reform process of its international transfer system aimed at increasing transparency, integrity and fairness amongst all football family members.

FIFA has thoroughly reformed the international transfer system in the past few years. Since the launch of FIFA 2.0 in late 2016, the modernization of the international transfer system has been one of FIFA’s key objectives. It should be noted that it is also the first objective of the FIFA Vision 2020-2023.
