The Bureau of the FIFA Players’ Status Committee (FIFA PSC) established that Cardiff City must pay FC Nantes outstanding transfer monies regarding the transfer of the late Emiliano Sala.

Facts and Procedure

On 19 January 2019, FC Nantes and Cardiff City FC signed a transfer agreement concerning the transfer of the player Mr Emiliano Sala from FC Nantes to Cardiff FC. The transfer’s validity was conditional upon the fulfillment of the player completing a successful medical examination with Cardiff City, that the French League registered the mutual termination of FC Nantes contract of employment with the Player in France and the release of the Player’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
