On 15 May 2024, ahead of their upcoming Congress on 17 May 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, the world football's governing body announced a series of changes affecting the women's game, including a revamped international match calendar for female athletes. On the same day, Mr. Mattias Grafström was also formally appointed as FIFA Secretary General. The FIFA Council made these decisions.
