CAS partially upheld the ruling of the FIFA DRC in favor of Zamalek FC (Zamalek) against the Player. The decision was that the Player was to pay a compensation of USD 2 million for implicitly terminating his contract with Zamalek. This compensation was deemed USD 2 million by CAS instead of the USD 9 million demanded by Zamalek because the Panel ruled that they contributed to the implicit breach of the Player’s contract by not responding to his emails. Amongst other things, the Panel ruled that CD Aves was jointly and severally liable to pay the USD 2 million, given that they signed the Player when he was still under contract. Finally, the Panel ruled that there was no concrete evidence to prove that CD Aves and Al Ahly were part of a bridge transfer scheme.
