On 27 January 2025, FUTPRO (“Asociacion de futbolistas Profesionales”, Women Players Association in Spain) announced a “historical agreement” for the new Collective Bargaining Agreement that will rule over the women professional football in Spain (the current Collective Agreement will be valid until 30 June 2025). This announcement, although encouraging, might land as confusing while considering that, only on 1 June 2024, an amendment or second package of regulations, regarding minimum labour conditions for women players was enforced on the FIFA Regulation on the Transfer and Status of Players (FIFA RSTP), the abovementioned is furtherly completed by considering internal labour law regulations.
