Governance and regulation of football: making the voice of Africa heard

The African continent is a breeding ground for world football: all over the world, African players play in the most prestigious professional clubs. But, in this globalized football, are the interests of the African continent really represented and defended? The Panel will aim to address questions of regulation and governance of football, both at the continental and global level, and to reflect and debate on how legal issues in favor of African football can be taken to the highest level.

Alexandre DURAND is a lawyer specialized in sports law. He is the founder of Editions droitdusport.com and Football Legal. He has been organizing sports law conferences in France and internationally for over 15 years.

Nasr EL DIN AZZAM

Nasr El Din Azzam is a Co-Founder and Sports Lawyer at Sport Makers, a Sports Law & Management Firm based in Cairo & Doha.
He is a legal advisor for Zamalek SC and Ismaily SC in Egypt, alongside many other clubs in Middle East & Africa. Given his previous experiences as a former football player, he also advises football players in contractual matters.
Nasr is a member of the International Association of Football Lawyers (AIAF).

HAMADOU BABBA

Abdouraman Hamadou Babba is a football stakerholder in Cameroon. He was a member of Fécafoot and president of Etoile Filante de Garoua. He is known for the various appeals to the Court of arbitration for sport which led to several cancellations of electoral processes and dissolutions of Fécafoot management teams.

Jean-Jacques NOUYADJAM is a lawyer specializing in sports law, registered with the Cameroon Bar. He founded the bilingual and pan-African law firm NOUYADJAM & Associés. He is a member of the International Association of Football Lawyers (AIAF). He is also the founder of the Cameroonian Association of Sports Law Lawyers (ACADS).
