On 8 August 2023, UEFA had to cancel a 2023-2024 Champions League third qualifying round game opposing AEK Athens (Greece) to Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) due to violent clashes between teams' supporters that ended up with a dead fan. The match was initially scheduled to occur in the Greek capital on the same day it was canceled.
