The CJEU Receives a Request for a Preliminary Ruling concerning the FIFA Football Agent Regulations

On 26 May 2023, the Court of Justice of the European Union received a request for a preliminary ruling in the Case C-209/23 (see enclosed). This request has been submitted by the Ninth Civil Chamber of the Landgericht Mainz (Regional Court of Mainz, Germany) in the case brought by an agent (FT) and RRC Sports GmbH (Applicants) against FIFA (Defendant).

The German Court was seized of an action for an injunction against the application of the provisions of the FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR). The action was brought by a football player's agent and his company.
