10 years!

10 years of a long legal marathon, which is not yet over.

10 years to decide on the merits of a question which, moreover, has still not been resolved, despite the answer being obvious. We already know what the Belgian court of referral will say.

10 years for this?

Some will lament that justice is slow, that the pace of law is not the pace of sport.

This 10-year delay, however, is due to the sport. FIFA did everything in its power to avoid and slow down the processing of this dispute by the State courts. All procedural means have been mobilized to prevent State courts from actually hearing the case: a complaint to the EU Commission to convince the courts to wait, and also to raise doubts, as it is quite common for the Commission to reject complaints...
