Montenegro's FK Arsenal Tivat Banned for 10 Years by UEFA over Match-Fixing Attempt


On 16 July 2025, UEFA announced significant sanctions against the Montenegrin football club FK Arsenal Tivat following an investigation into unethical conduct during a 2023 Conference League match against Armenian club Alashkert FC. In this context, evidence of match-fixing was confirmed, leading to a severe decision by UEFA.

In the context of the UEFA Conference League first-round qualifier between FK Arsenal Tivat and Alashkert FC on 20 July 2023, which ended with a 1-6 Armenian visiting victory, UEFA identified match-fixing situations.
