On 27 June 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed Sevilla FC’s appeal in its dispute against FIFA regarding compensation claims under the FIFA Club Protection Programme (CPP). Sevilla had sought additional compensation for two of its players, arguing that the “Prima de Contrato” (contract bonus) should be included in the compensation. CAS upheld FIFA’s decision that the Prima de Contrato was not covered under the CPP, affirming that only regular monthly or weekly payments are eligible for compensation.
