Background
The introduction of the new Club Licensing Regulations[1] is an effort to bring Australian football in line with most leagues in the world. It aims to develop Club Licensing as a regulatory and development tool similar to what is utilised by the European and Asian football confederations. Australian A-League Men clubs have previously been solely subject to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Club Licensing requirements which set out minimum standards for clubs to compete in Asian club competitions.
