CAS Determines that Munir El Haddadi is not eligible to play for Morocco


On 6 November 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) issued an award dismissing the appeal filed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and Spanish player of Moroccan ancestry Munir El Haddadi, who had appealed in order to switch allegiance to Morocco (TAS 2020/A/7444 Munir El Haddadi & FRMF v. FIFA & RFEF - award enclosed).

After a first trial to switch allegiance in 2017 before FIFA, which was denied and confirmed by CAS, Mr El Haddadi attempted once again to switch from Spain to Morocco in October 2020 after FIFA amended...
